Biography

Born in 1996. Danish/Georgian. Based between Copenhagen, Denmark and Tbilisi, Georgia.

My photographic practice centers around existential and identity related topics.
In the fall of 2021, I made my first photobook, “To Dad from Johanna”, which tells the story of losing my father from an early age. Following the book, I started on a portrait project with my sister which takes a starting point in our father’s paintings, while adding our story of losing him and stepping into adult life without him.

In my projects, I have used photography and personal notes as a way to process and express difficult experiences and emotions. I’m driven by an urge to find common ground and create deep connections to others, as well a to understand myself and my position in this world better.

Human, social relations and interactions are also very interesting to me, and I hope to make intercultural art/photography collaborations in the future.
